Special to PrepSpin.com
District play begins this week for many teams, and there are some top-flight matchups among them, including a Class 5A clash at No. 9 Collins where No. 1 Scott County looks to rebound from its storm-shortened loss to Madison Central last week.
The Titans (4-1) feature Kade Goodin, a 6-2 senior quarterback committed to Ball State who has thrown for 1,899 yards and 26 touchdowns, marks that rank him No. 1 and No. 2 in the state in those categories, respectively.
The Cardinals (4-1) represent the state’s second best rushing offense with 1,683 yards rushing, an average of 336.6 yards per game. Scott County also has a Ball State commit with Timmy Emongo, a 5-9 senior do-everything running back who has racked up 698 yards and 12 TDs rushing.
Friday’s PrepSpin Game of the Week travels to Nicholasville where Class 5A No. 8 West Jessamine hosts Class 6A No. 9 George Rogers Clark. That game will be streaming live on all of PrepSpin.com’s streaming channels and WKYT+.
Here are some of the top matchups across the state for Week 6 (Sept. 25-26) of the Kentucky high school football season, according to the PrepSpin Power Rankings and the Kentucky High School Football Media Poll. In addition, check out other games featuring Lexington and Central Kentucky teams.
